mom

So today is my mom's surgery day. She is actually back in surgery for almost an hour now to remove fibroid tumors that they found almost a year ago now.  The surgery is supposed to last anywhere from an hour to 3 hours.  It has been a wonderful relief to know that mom is walking into this surgery completely covered in prayer and thankful for these tumors to be removed! We are so thankful for her Dr who is a strong believer and who has offered to pray over her and the surgery before it even started.  Mom is having the surgery at St. Vincent's, my sweet home for a year while i worked labor/delivery, and i know will be taken care of so wonderfully.  I came over to be here for the surgery and the few days after for recovery and am so glad I did.  Mom teared up as she was being wheeled back but I know she is going to be perfectly fine and thankful that she had the surgery when it's all over.  i love my mom!   -p.s. as i was finishing up typing this Dr. Heaton came and spoke with us about mom's surgery...we haven't seen mom yet but the Dr said it went great and the tumors DO NOT look cancerous...praise the Lord!!

The update on me is a little frustrating to type out.  We got a call yesterday saying they were going to be able to fit me in at the last minute and we of course said we'd come.  Me and eric were so grateful for the appointment and were anxious to finally get some answers on exactly what this is I have and what the plan of action is from here.  Unfortunately, this is not what we got at the visit.  The neurologist basically said that she did not know much if anything about fibrous dysplasia of the sphenoid and would need to do "more research" on it.  She did a full neuro assessment which everything was fine on and gave me a prescription for the headaches.  We were disappointed that we didn't get the answers we were going in to get BUT are so thankful that this is not something that is so terrible and widespread that every doctor knows about it.  So it looks like from here they will be referring me to a neurosurgeon who will know more about this and what to do.  So our prayers will turn to praying over exactly which neurosurgeon to go to and praying for an appointment with whichever God has picked out for us.  thank yall so much for the prayers...we have been brought to tears so many times at the stories of prayers that are going up over us. We are so thankful!!

Great news on your Mom. Have you ever thought about calling Dr. "House"? I bet he could help! HaHa!

Seriously, hang in there and stay positive! God's with you.
